Singer Adrian Christian Finds A New Life As The World’s Most Unlikely Pop Star

Singer Adrian Christian Finds A New Life As The World’s Most Unlikely Pop Star

All Consuming Fire, the latest single from Adrian Christian, has gained momentum across the web from his Mission Tour, which began with a red carpet premiere at an LA movie theater.

Adrian Christian is not your typical pop star, nor your typical Gospel artist.  It’s hard to think that only a few years ago, the singer and actor embarked on recording two separate albums, a Pop recording, and a Christian CD.  But as he came closer to the recording sessions, producer Kevin Leach of The Lumineers and One Direction singer Niall Horan saw star potential.

“We have got to put out a club record for you,” he pleaded with Adrian.

The singer, who is openly gay, and an activist in the LGBTQ community, was traveling across the country singing at churches, but his background was based in New York nightclubs and Off-Broadway.  So the two set out to record a semi-autobiographical record, with a sound recalling his upbringing in the Bronx where he was born.

Instead of two albums, they decided on just one, with one song that brought in his church roots, and the remainder of the album straight-ahead Pop, rock and R&B.

The resulting first single, “All Consuming Fire,” has given Adrian Christian a lot of attention.  Even with the spiritual overtone, the song is layered with a Pop sensibility, surprising many fans from both sides of the aisle.  In the process, the digital download is generating historical significance.  It turns out, it’s the first time an openly gay Pop singer has released a Christian song – with the song being a lead single to a Pop album.

“It’s a great song, uplifting,” said Adrian.  “I never thought people would be listening from countries that don’t share our freedoms here in America, and here it’s embraced by everyone.”

With this kind of popularity during a Trump administration, the presence of Adrian Christian raises curiosity.  As Adrian puts it, “My faith has always been a part of my life, and I think I’m reflecting a lot of what’s out there.  So many people feel unheard and disenfranchised.  At the end of the day, love is the message, and that’s why I think people are listening to my music.  I’m really grateful to the fans who come out to the shows.”

Adrian Christian’s All Consuming Fire is available everywhere digitally and The Mission Tour is continually adding dates to the schedule at adrianchristian.com.
